Delete Ticket Attachments
Purpose
Delete Ticket Attachments gives WHMCS admins a safer way to remove support ticket attachments without losing control over what was removed.
It exists for a simple reason: support tickets can collect a lot of files over time, including large uploads, outdated screenshots and files that no longer need to be kept. Removing those manually can be slow and risky. This addon adds clear admin tools to delete eligible ticket attachments, keep backups before deletion, restore them when needed, and log what happened.
It is for WHMCS admins who want better control over ticket attachment storage without editing database records or manually digging through attachment folders.

- Delete eligible support ticket attachments directly from the WHMCS admin ticket view.
- Restore deleted attachments from backup when backup records and backup files are available.
- Backup-first behaviour, so the addon creates a backup before clearing attachment references.
- Clear ticket-view buttons showing how many attachments are eligible and how many exist in total.
- Paperclip attachment count column on the WHMCS admin ticket overview.
- Protected file extensions, so selected file types can be kept safe from deletion.
- Protected file names and protected filename keywords, so files containing important words such as “screenshot” can be kept safe.
- Attachment type rule setting with two clear modes:
- Delete all file types except protected types.
- Delete selected file types only except protected types.
- Configurable backup storage location.
- Daily WHMCS cron clean-up for expired backup records and backup files.
- Daily cron logging, so admins can see that the clean-up ran even when nothing was purged.
- Settings page for attachment rules, backup behaviour, logging and maintenance options.
- Logs page with filters, ticket links, admin names and detailed log entries.
- Licence Info page showing licence status and related licence information.
- Separate licence key file, so updates do not overwrite the installed licence key.
- Safety-focused behaviour:
- Does not delete protected file types.
- Does not delete protected filename matches.
- Does not overwrite saved settings during normal updates.
- Does not overwrite the installed licence key file.
- Does not remove backup files unless retention or clean-up rules allow it.
- Does not require client-area template changes.

This addon is admin-side only. It adds tools to the WHMCS admin ticket area and addon admin pages. It is template independent and does not require changes to the WHMCS client-area theme.
Requirements
Template support:
No client-area template changes are needed. The addon works from the WHMCS admin area.
Ioncube:
IonCube Loader version 13 or newer.
PHP version:
7.4, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 or 8.4
Cron:
WHMCS daily cron should be running. The addon uses the daily cron for clean-up tasks and logs each daily clean-up run.
External access:
The WHMCS installation must be able to contact the licensing service for licence checks.
Permissions:
The admin user must have access to the addon module and the relevant WHMCS support ticket admin permissions.
